Ludmila Demich
Ludmila Demich Artist and Iconographer, Ludmila Demich, has lived in Scottsdale, Arizona since 2005 and in the United States since 1987. As long as she remembered herself she always loved to draw. She loved art, history, archeology, architecture, anthropology, medicine and helping people.
After receiving BFA in Fine Art at the Art Institute in Belarus and in Graphic Design at Davis College in Ohio, she dedicated a great portion of time to raising and educating her son, while simultaneously aiding her family in establishing a food manufacturing business in Ohio.
She contributed her talent as an artist in the form of creating the business logo, as well as devising the packaging design for various products, interior and exterior design for the company, and essentially the entire identity system of the enterprise.
Her deep interest in Iconography and Sacred Art brought her to New York to study at Prosopon School of Iconology. She continues to study and perfect this ancient art and took several art courses studying ancient techniques of egg tempera, and encaustic, fresco, murals, mosaic and 3D mosaic in Greece, Russia and Italy.
Her Murals, one is size 21’ by 10’ is in St. Apkar Armenian church in Scottsdale, AZ and Icons done in traditional egg tempera of 15-th century technique with real gold leaf are in private collections of people and several churches (look at home page of her website) and monasteries in the United States, Russia, Israel and Australia.
The convergence of many distinct cultures and experiences in Ludmila’s artwork allowed her to create a unique and original language of beauty that is both innovative as well as charismatic. The accumulation of her life experience, interaction with a variety of fascinating people of diverse cultures, and her fruitful travels to distant lands, have deeply contributed to Ludmila’s vivid artistic imagination, allowing her to explore new forms of 2D and 3D art.
